Welcome to Year 1WA
Your Year 1WA class teachers are Miss Walsh and Mrs Arnold. Our teaching assistant is Miss Ashcroft.
We have lots of very exciting learning opportunities planned throughout the year.
Here you will be able to read and find out about all of the different things that we get up to in Year 1.
PE
Y1WA's PE day is Wednesday and Thursday. Your child can come to school dressed in their Beacon PE kit on these days for PE to make undressing and dressing easier for them.
Your child will need their own labelled water bottle in school each day as well.
Homework
Homework will be set on Seesaw each Friday. Children will need to complete this by the following Tuesday.

Reading
Reading is a very important aspect of learning not just in Year 1, but right throughout the children's school journey. We actively encourage you to read every night with your child. In order for your child to gain reading rewards you need to read with them 5/7 nights and sign and date their reading record.
Year 1 complete a daily 1 hour Read Write Inc lesson to support children with their phonics and reading.
Please ensure your child has their book bag with their reading book and record in school each day. Children will be reading these daily in school and so it is important your child has theirs with them.
