Y1H 2021 - 2022

Hello and welcome to Y1H class page! Your class teacher for this year is Miss Hollins.

We are happy to welcome children back after the summer holidays with lots of exciting activites planned throughout our school year!

Here you will be able to read about all the exciting things we will be doing within Year 1 and throughout our school's curriculum.

Please ensure children have labels in all of their clothing, as well as a labelled water bottle which should be brought in every day. Also please ensure children bring in their reading bags containing their reading records. 

PE and swimming

Y1H's PE day for Summer 1 term is on Tuesday's and swimming on Monday's. Please ensure children's PE and swimming kits are in school weekly with names in all items of clothing, as well as your child having a labelled water bottle in school each day as well.

Homework

Homework will be set on Seesaw each Friday which will need to be completed by the following Tuesday. Year 1 also have MyMaths homework whichis set each Friday.

Reading 

Reading is an essential part of learning throughout your child's entire school journey. We actively encourage your child to read each night and your support with this would be massively appreciated. When your child has read, please sign their reading records. 

Year 1 complete a daily 1 hour Read Write Inc lesson to support your child with their phonics and reading.
